Rock On

I leave it to others to write a coherent review. All I can say is, this is one of the best movies (non-animated) that I've watched in a rather long time, and, hands down, the best Hindi film.

I realise that the movie may not have a pan-India appeal because it does, after all, exhibit a very urban scenario, but it does display the rock subset superbly.

Perhaps more to the point, nobody in the film is a caricature or stereotype and ultimately, each of them, even perfect Prachi, feels real. 'Debbie', especially, was well sketched-out and also the perfect foil for Prachi's 'Sakshi'. And I really loved the fact that there were no 'villains', save, of course, the absolutely gross music directors. Thank gods they got beaten up. Yay!

I know many people may feel differently, but I liked the intensity of the friendships. Homosociality, specially when it looks this good and feels this human, is brilliant to see. After all, there's no real reason platonic friendships between straight men should not be as complicated and wrought with emotion as love affairs. And if, as I think, and julychild agrees, Rob is gay, then kudos to the director and Luke Kenny for such a subtle potrayal.

In conclusion, like Iris and I said every five minutes, dude, they're all so hot!

I *so* want to watch the movie...kaar shathey jai?? *sigh*
And friendships can be of all kinds, trust me. I understand what you mean. Some intense friendships in life remain different....they are suble yet intense and are NEVER defined by anything - that's what's beautiful about them.
Well written :)
